Product Manager - Techne, Stone, Staffordshire

Following internal reorganisation our client Bibby Scientific, are seeking to recruit a Product Manager for their brand of life science products ‘Techne’. As part of the marketing team, the Product Manager will report to the Marketing Director and assist in all aspects of marketing the Techne brand.
Job Role:
You will be expected to maintain a good knowledge of the market, its drivers and to interpret and report trends. You will also be expected to analyse the market for opportunities and where necessary introduce new products to the range, some NPD projects will be through organic in-house development where you will be involved from instigation of concept, through market research, writing specifications in line with market requirements, and working closely with the development team throughout the product development. For other new products it will be necessary to work with third parties to introduce OEM products into the range. Whichever route to market is taken you will also be responsible for formulating a comprehensive and successful launch plan.
The role will be involved with the commercial team in the organisation formulating sales promotions, and where necessary offering sales support. This will also involve supporting our International Sales Offices so some travel is required as part of the role, both within the UK and internationally.
It will also be necessary to work with the Marketing Communications team on generating adverts (both page and electronic), press releases and exhibitions etc.
Qualifications and Background:
This position will require a commercially savvy person , You will be a confident communicator, influencer and negotiator with a proven track record of success in a life science role, preferably in scientific bench top equipment.
The technical nature of the Techne products means a scientific background is also important for the role. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in the life sciences as well as experience of working in a laboratory environment is desirable. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of modern techniques such as qPCR.
Salary £35-38k dependant on experience
